Lousy Company, Crap Service, No Compassion

After years of paying my premiums with no claims, over the holiday weekend our washer’s discharge line came undone and flooded the kitchen, family room and parts of the cellar. We called AAA Mid Atlantic to report the claim. They took the information and gave a claim number. We asked what do we do now? The agent said “call a water mitigation company”…wait, who should we call? We thought they would get the ball rolling but NO. At the end of the call they said you have an obligation to mitigate any further damage. What a crap ass customer service response. Decades ago we had Cumberland Insurance and a similar incident happened with shower waste water flowing into our crawl space. We made 1 call and the Cumberland handled the contractor and mitigation calls. Our advice is to avoid this company, pay a little more somewhere else and get the service and respect you deserve when things go wrong. No excuse for this “I don’t give a damn” mentality when you are paying $1000’s of dollars a year in premiums. The auto part of this company isn’t much better. Avoid AAA Mid Atlantic at all cost. Here’s a kicker, the adjuster is in California and we are in New Jersey talk about remote work from home concept. Yikes. I guess it’s OK if the homeowner does all the work on the claim.
