Another terrible review of Amex...company all of sudden suspended my account, so I was left in the middle of nowhere with no means to pay. They said they have sent me and email but because they have to notify you by law to do this, they will then suspend your account seconds later. It turns out looking at reviews that if you have not been using your card ( read making money for them in merchant fees business have to pay when accepting Amex ), then they will freeze your account... for review! No other company in the world have such terrible policy, no wonder why company is shrinking, and people just don't want to have their cards...certainly in outside US. Going back to my suspended account issue, they have not accepted all the paperwork submitted and all of sudden they closed account without notifying me of this. Direct debit was active, but they have not taken money out of my account but passed it on to collection agency. For everyone benefit balance was merely couple of hundred quid. I queried this with them, on why you didn't take money but passed it on to collection agency who added missed payment mark and they said that's their policy...I will be taking it to court and urge everyone to do whenever you have issues with them if possible. They are running this business in UK with skeleton crew managed by US...whose culture is terrible !
