I've been a customer for almost 25 years. My account is current and there is available credit on the card which I wanted to use. However, it is currently under review so they can scrutinize my purchases and decide by computer, as I was told no human actually oversees this, whether or not to reduce my spending limit. Card is unable to be used until the review is complete. Now if I was late on payments or exceeded my credit limit, whole different conversation and would be completely reasonable. So, on a recorded line, the representative confirmed that if I made an additional payment, above and beyond what I was obligated to make, the review would go away and no changes to my card would be made. In the real world this is called EXTORSION. Needless to say, payments will still be made, and no future purchases will be placed on this card. I will NEVER use American Express again and they have lost a customer. Any attorneys think thi is grounds for a class action suit feel free to reach out unless Big Brother removes this review.
