Our area was extremely hard hit by hurricane helene. My 90 year old mother was without power for 21 days and without a home phone from Sept 27 to Dec 17. She paid over $90 per month for the landline service. She's had the same phone number for over 68 years. AT&T initially announced they would be issuing credits for people in the area because of interruption of service. In late December I called to check on her credit which should have been a little over $250. I was offered $130 and then $200 or I could call back with the dates that I reported the service. They said they had no record of us calling to report the outage. I repled it was a hurricane, your lines were completely down. When I called back with the dates I had reported it, I was told there was no record of me calling the first time today.
