First time using booking.com- NEVER AGAIN.

First time using booking.com. I made a simple typo on my email when making the reservation so never received the confirmation email and PIN. Booking.com locked me out, refused to give me the PIN, and their support looped endlessly due to not being able to get past the automated phone system without the PIN. I sent several email via their “contact us” links but nothing. No response whatsoever. I then finally got an automated email back asking me to provide the phone number on which they can call back to verify the ID. No phone calls. Finally by some miracle I was able to connect to a human who refused to help until they can call back to verify by ID- of course they didn’t call back. I then called again and went through the whole thing and another ID callback that never happened, and finally I forced someone to stay on the line until it was fixed. They’ve made it shockingly hard to fix what should be a basic and simple error to fix and I am sure there is no chance I am the only one who made such an error. Do NOT use booking.com. You can never reach a human to help sort out any issues - unless your travel plans are simple with zero chance of issues and you have no need to contact them for help. If you need to reach them - good luck.
