‼️Warning to future guests – unresolved deposit issue and lack of accountability‼️I feel obligated to share my experience regarding my stay at Great Group Holiday Home (Austria) – Booking.com reservation 4340578180, stay from 8–15 March 2025.➡️ On-site, we were required to pay a €250 cash deposit, which was promised to be refunded via bank transfer.➡️ No one inspected the property upon checkout, and we received no information at all about the deposit for more than 3 weeks.➡️ When we finally followed up, we were accused of damaging beds (which we strongly deny) – yet no photos, no repair documents, no cost breakdown were ever provided.➡️ We submitted a signed and legible deposit receipt, provided our IBAN, and cooperated fully with Booking.com – repeatedly – since 23 May 2025.➡️ Although Booking initially said the refund process had started, they later backtracked, claiming the signature was "unclear" and that the refund couldn't proceed without confirmation from the property.➡️ The property has since ignored all communication, and Booking.com now states that they can’t help at all – despite the fact that we booked through their platform and trusted their guarantees.📌 More than 3 months later – no refund, no resolution.This case shows how Booking.com fails to protect its customers when a property behaves unfairly. They made promises, asked for patience, but in the end, they simply walked away from the issue – despite having all the evidence.👉 Future travelers, be very cautious when booking properties that require cash deposits, especially when there is no check-out inspection or written documentation.Sadly, Booking.com has shown that their support has limits – even when customers are honest and fully cooperative.
