AVOID!!!!!!! Booked through booking.com for a property that seems to be a scam! No door number on the address, no information on how to check in. The company has asked for my card details for a security deposit that wasn’t mentioned on the booking and not told me a value of the deposit, luckily I done my research before providing any information! The owner of the house tried to call me, I googled the number and the business who owns the house is permantly closed and the Ltd co is dissolved on companies house. They ring me for one second and hang up and when I ring back don’t answer! I messaged through booking.com and said I want my money back they replied with ‘I don’t understand your communication’ seems like a bot! I called booking.com after waiting on hold for 30 mins, they couldn’t care less! They refused to refund me unless the owner accepted the cancellation. When I said I was concerned it was a scam booking they told me to go to the property to see if it exists.. I live 3 hours away and wasn’t risking it!!! I said there was not even a door number to know where to go, they tried to contact the owner also no answer. Booking.com said they don’t have a complaints department! I’ve now raised this with my credit card company to claim the money back.. avoid!!!! Always use air bnb, if something goes wrong they always help you.
