Channel 4 left Freesat HD in a huff in March 2018 claiming it was being asked to pay higher fees than it should for EPG. Pulled the plug on its app on that. Whilst you can force your Freesat box into non Freesat mode to watch C4 HD you cant record the programme. Who watches linear TV now ?.Android TV is one of the new standards but they refuse to release the All4 app for that. Sideloading the app they have it rigged so it fails with 10 minutes on non downloaded material. They fob off anybody who contacts them with reqard to this. You can cast from a mobile phone but not ideal.Due to there relationship with Freeview they have entered into supporting a proprietary version of Android TV using Freeview software components. E.g. a non standard spec that is being marketed internationally. Normal nonsense of playing with software products rather than providing a viewing service to the public. They now have a joint state in Freesat since the owners of Freeview and Freesat are pooled. Somehow suspect they won't put 4HD back on Freesat and won't support Android TV. Fine I don't watch the broadcasts same as other people who they have actioned a disservice on. Pity since C4 News at 7 is one of the best.
