Absolutely the worst customer support I’ve ever experienced

Run, don't walk away.I had an infuriating experience with Coinbase yesterday that left me beyond frustrated. All I needed was to update my country of residence in the app — sounds simple, right? Wrong. Every time I submitted the new address, it triggered a "proof of address" verification, and every single time the document got declined. No explanation, no logic. Just rejection. And to make things worse, you can only try once every 24 hours. So if it fails, you're stuck waiting a whole day to get rejected again.Eventually I had to contact support — which turned out to be a nightmare in itself.The support UI is atrocious. The live chat kept crashing every 2–3 minutes, logged me out of the app repeatedly, and was laggy to the point of uselessness. You can’t send screenshots directly in the chat (in 2025…really??), so the agent sent me a broken link I had to manually copy into a browser, log in again, go through multiple steps just to upload a basic screenshot. What decade are we in?The support agent was completely useless. After reviewing the screenshot (which clearly showed the error), they just parroted back the same error message I was seeing myself. Like…do you think I can’t read?🤡They told me my document was rejected due to a country mismatch — yes, obviously, that’s why I’m trying to change my country in the first place. The agent insisted I had to wait 24 hours to try again, even though it was blatantly clear it would just keep failing in a loop because of the mismatch. It took two hours of me begging, explaining, and pointing out their broken logic before they finally updated the country manually — and surprise, my document was then accepted instantly.To top it off, the support replies were slow, robotic, and mostly copy-paste fluff like “Thanks for your patience” and “Sorry for the inconvenience” — with my name added after every sentence in the most fake and condescending way possible.This was hands-down the worst customer support experience of my life, and I’ve dealt with some terrible ones. Coinbase has shown a total lack of care, logic, and competence. Needless to say, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere — and I strongly advise others to do the same.
