I made my first purchase from Dell store and it turned out to be a very horrific experience. I purchased a laptop and wanted to order a 14” unit. I ordered a 15” in error. As soon as I picked up the box and saw how big it was, when received, I realized I ordered a bigger laptop than what I meant to do.I initiated a return and went through all the steps. Before I could print the return label, somehow, I lost the return page. All I needed at that time was to get the return label sent to me so I could print and return.I had to call Dell to get the return labelSpeaking with the Dell rep, I was told that there would be a 15% restocking fee. That was a major surprise. In all the pages I went through filling out then return info, there was never a mention of a return fee. I did see when I was filling out the return info, that I would receive my refund in 10-15 days.I questioned the Dell rep why I had to pay a restocking fee since the unit was not opened and in the original box exactly as it had been shipped.I was told that I had to pay the restocking fee since I bought the laptop for a business rather than for personal use. I had a company for many years, am retired now and use my computers for personal use. No Business to use it for. Out of habit I clicked on Business, instead of personal use and that magically created the 15% return fee.I told the rep there was no mention of a restocking fee on the several pages I had to work through to initiate the return. She kept saying that is the policy. I kept telling her, it was nowhere to be seen when filling out the return info. She told me to go to Google.com. Then put in USA dell returns, then she took me through a few dropdowns and she finally led me to an obscure title link that did contain the info on the 15% restocking fee.I order a lot on line and I don’t have to spend 2 minutes searching the site to get the “small print” about policies.Bottom line, if I want to return to Dell I need to pay a restocking fee. That’s not all. In part of my purchase I paid for premium support remote and personal support, on site. That was an extra $83.19 cents that I feel totally inappropriate to pay a restocking fee on “paper” products. I am not a major on line shopper, but I do make purchases, they are mostly through Amazon and other major sellers. Never, ever, had to pay a restocking fee. When return to Amazon and dropped the return off at UPS, the return credit is in my inbox, many times before I get home.I understand the importance of the “buyer beware’Last time Dell will get my business
