Discord’s automated moderation system has a massive false positive problem — especially when it comes to so-called “child safety” violations. Completely harmless conversations are being flagged and removed, sometimes resulting in account restrictions or bans, all without any real explanation.What’s even more frustrating is the appeal process. It feels like no human ever looks at the appeal. You submit your case, only to receive a generic, robotic response that clearly doesn’t address the context or message in question. It's as if you're shouting into the void.I absolutely support real child safety enforcement, but this system clearly lacks nuance. Automatically labeling regular discussions as “dangerous” with no review process undermines trust in the platform — and punishes innocent users.Discord needs to do better. Either improve the detection system or, at the very least, ensure that a real human reviews appeals. Right now, it’s just broken.
