Buyer beware when using DoorDash.com! Excessive default tip amounts, and no recourse for poor service. I typically give pretty generous tips. However, this is the 2nd time, I think, that the DD payment process automatically defaulted an amount 2x as much as I typically tip. This was NOT immediately visible in the screen layout, so I did not see an opportunity to adjust it. This was AFTER I decided to pay the $2.99 extra to have the food delivered directly to me (no side-trips for other customers). I did not see until too late that the excessive tip was locked in. So for a $30 meal I was charged over $52.00! Then, the driver used a route that went about as far out of the way as possible, so the $2.99 was of no benefit to me. There is no opportunity for recourse, so you’re just out of luck! There should be a way to tip or adjust the tip after the service is provided, not get stuck with a bad experience with no recourse.Be CAREFUL when you complete your orders, that DD doesn’t pick your pocket!
