Duped My Hotel Reservation

sappointed with Expedia.I booked a package for myself and my husband to Cancun. I booked it as a hotel and flight combo but when I arrived at my hotel they told me that my husband was not on the reservation.I am very puzzled because when I made the booking I selected “2 people” - I booked 2 flights, 2 shuttles but somehow, the hotel room only has one guest.When we arrived at the resort we had to pay an extra $1200 to add him to the reservation for 3 nights. The hotel told me if Expedia updates their reservation to two people in their system then they will waive the fee.I then contacted Expedia via the chatbot and spoke to an agent as I figured this must be a mistake. The agent told me many times “I understand your frustration but this is what’s in our system”… I asked him how it’s even possible to make a booking like this and there was no given explanation nor even an ability to try to understand from their end how an error or miscommunication like this could happen. The sitting suck agent was of no help.I asked for a phone number several times and they told me “there is no phone number”.I have been booking all my travel with Expedia for 20 years and I can say from this point on NO MORE.Their system literally duped me into thinking I bought a package for 2 people (I HAD CHOSEN 2 PEOPLE IN THE BOOKING FLOW FROM THE START).This had to be some sort of system glitch as I paid $3400 for 3 nights… for one person (allegedly) if you can believe it. How on earth I could book 2 flights on the reservation for “1 person” after picking the hotel to start makes absolutely no sense and is not standard when booking travel online.Expedia - admit your mistake or lose me as a customer forever. It should also be illegal for multinational companies to not have phone numbers for customers to call. Shame on them.
