Went on GC website and ordered two guitar pedals. Both showing in stock at the Redmond, WA store. I order both with “store pickup” option and GC accepts my payment. I order at Noon and the store is open until 9pm. Nothing on Saturday. I call the GC main number mid day on Sunday and they say “being shipped - ooops - no it’s being processed”. Transfers me to the store directly. Josh takes my call. First, 24 hours later and nobody has even touched my order. Josh checks the warehouse and neither pedal is in stock. Unbelievable. I haven’t ordered anything in years from a retailer for store pickup where they have no clue what is in their warehouse. And GC is the only retailer I am aware of that thinks it’s ok to take more than 2-3 hours to process an in-store pickup. The absolute worst service levels in retailing today. What’s too bad is that GC is the big guy in the area so you know you can let service stink and the consumer has no choice. Josh was friendly and made sure that my pedals are being sent to the store. He told me I will get an email when they arrive. I already paid for them so I guess they will show up at some point. I am not optimistic that when they get there anyone will even know, so will check in later in the week. I have been in this store many times. It is a complete mess. Inventory and boxes all over the place. Very seldom does someone actually approach me for assistance. I was there looking for a pedal a month ago and your employee said “let me look in the back” and actually never came back. I think she just forgot about me, shift ended, and went home. WOW! If GC does store audits I suggest scheduling one in Redmond asap. I am often in the Seattle and Tempe stores and they are the opposite - clean/professional/on top of things. I would have ordered the pedals from there but Redmond says they have them in stock. I would appreciate GC considering some form of discount on my order or store credit for a future purchase.
