The people I found through Angi/Home Advisor were excellent -- of course I did my own interviewing and assessing but was very satisfied with all the providers. Where Angi falls down is they are completely disorganized. Companies change names and Angi seems clueless what to do when that happens and how to inform the customer. As for the review process, Angi mistyped my review so that a sentence was cut short, leaving a false impression, and a bad one, in the review of this excellent provider. I tried and tried, but there's just no clear way to edit a review and when I spoke to someone at Angi, either they couldn't find the review or else they told me it had been corrected when it had not, and finally someone assured me it was done, but I'd asked to see the review and instead, i got an email from Angi saying I wasn't registered! That's after I'd used them more than twice this year. I looked for my account ... and there it was. Also, you can never find the same provider twice -- they keep sending different ones! Angi is very obviously now about corporate profits - not about customer service! What a shame.
