Twice when I made"Free Cancellation" reservations through Hotels.com, on which I was not supposed to pay until I was at the hotel, the hotels charged me and I had to dispute the charges on my credit card. Even though I followed the terms on the Hotels.com website, they not only would not help me, but they actually sided with the hotels. Hotels.com even changed their hotel website terms in the hotels' favor AFTER I had booked the hotel. The company will not honor their own terms and they will not help you if there is an issue with the hotel booking. STAY AWAY!
