I brought a breach of my medical records to the attention of the ICO, who even when the data controller agreed they had breached the Data Protection Act did nothing at all. Stating no breach was noted.It really beggars belief. This government quango is a self serving state entity, who protects the interest of the state and does little to protects the interests of the public and their personal data.All of the negative views are an accurate reflection of the ICO. If you can afford it, bypass the ICO and obtain legal advice from a data protection solicitor or from a local law centre free of charge.The ICO is simply a waste of your time and energy. It will take them at least 3/4 months to allocate a case officer to your concerns.Case officer just want to get rid of cases due to the sheer volume of work they have. Case officers do not require legal qualifications to do the job in hand.I wish anyone all the best if you contact the ICO. If you do, two things are certain:1) A poor response2) A long wait for a response.My advice is, find a no win no fee solicitor.
