Interesting story

Out of curiosity I wondered whether it was just me, or if ICO are a bit special- Oh, I see it's not me and they are!ICO contacted me when a tenant of mine, who I had taken to court and had evicted for non payment of rent, made a complaint against me. The week after he was evicted I received a letter from ICO stating a complaint had been made against me and my company for disclosure of his personal information. The tenant had already tried this with my letting agents and failed to bring a claim against them because they have a team of lawyers. I don't.Having assured ICO that I have never disclosed his personal data, they then sent me a letter warning me if I didn't pay them £40 for a registration fee, I could be fined up to £4000. I duly paid, although my company does not trade personal data with anyone. Another letter came to say that whilst they could not prove or disprove that I mishandled this tenants personal data, I was told to contact him in writing to tell him as much. As he still owes me over £6000 in rent and court fees, I was more than happy to contact him and asked ICO for his new address...they sent another letter...giving me the address of the property I own and had him evicted from! You really couldn't make it up! When I contacted them again to tell them they had sent me my own property address, they quickly replied saying the case was closed.Really? So, you've spent months making my life miserable, costing me money and threatening me and when I challenge you, you drop the case. It would be interesting to see how much they receive in 'registration payments' by threatening every small company to justify their jobs.
