I booked a room online but needed to cancel it. I cancelled within the 3 day window, was given a confirmation, but was charged for the total charge anyway. After several calls, I was told by IHG that I had purchased a nonrefundable room. I never would have purchased a nonrefundable room had it been made clear upfront. I did not want to use points or be a member, I just wanted to book a room and feel totally ripped off...they just said too bad and took my money. Never, never work with these people, all they want is your money.
