LG - terrible customer services

I am deeply disappointed by the response I have received from LG since my washing machine broke down. I purchased the LG Electronic FH4A8TDH4N for £599.99 on 16/09/2017. However, the machine wasnt delivered until 3 weeks later. The machine is still just within its warranty.On 17/09/2018, after putting in a load to wash, I noticed my machine heavily leaking via the door. In order to avoid water damage to my property, I disconnected the machine from the mains. The door lock was not released for an hour and it was only after that I was able to investigate the issue. I found that the lower rubber ring had detached it's self from the entrance to the machine. No clothing was entangled. The rubber ring was semi hung loosely away from the opening. I removed the soaking wet clothing and had to physically empty the water from within the machine using a beaker. Shortly after, I called LG and explained the circumstances. They refused to send out an engineer to inspect the machine. I emailed photos. They then stated that this was accidental damage on my part and this was not covered under the warranty. They insisted that clothing had got caught in the mechanism. This was not the case and complete speculation on their part. I asked again whether an engineer could be sent to assess the damage for themselves. This was refused. They provided the contact details for a repair company who charged a call out fee of £89.00! How can I be held 'accidently responsible' for the damage when all I did was to put in a small load to wash, select the wash programme and press the start button? Surely this is a design fault? How else am I supposed to put my clothes in the machine to wash??? I advise prospective customers thinking of buying this brand of machine to be weary as the product itself appears to be at fault and the customer services seem to want to wash their hands of any problems caused by the machine.
