I needed to cancel my subscription and it’s evident that they want to make it as difficult as possible for you to be able to do so unless you call them, at which time they’ll read you a bunch of lines from a script “I understand your concern and I will assist you in this request” and other BS like that…it’s like they’re telling you what you want to hear whilst stalling and then they’ll try to make you an offer for a better deal. When you say no thanks they’ll launch into more scripted stuff and it goes on and on. Never in my life have I shouted at someone who’s in customer support…I’ve had that job and I get it. But yesterday I ended up shouting at the person at McAfee because she wouldn’t just cancel and refund me as she said she would and let me off the phone. I explained that I had to deliver a meal to a friend who was just home from the hospital -nobody’s business- but I honestly had to go and despite being told that three times she kept insisting on me telling her what antivirus product I was going to use instead of McAfee. I was on the phone with her for SEVENTEEN MINUTES. It should have been 5-7 minutes max. My advice is to never even get started with McAfee so you’re never in the position to contact them for anything.
