better off calling directly..... you get more information. i recently made a reservation at zahav/phila not realizing there's a $45 min per person if you want a 'complete' meal. if one choses 'a la carte items ' you will get almost nothing for the same money spent. trickery!
I used Open Table for the first time, made a reservation and received a confirmation of the booking with a reference number from them, the following day the restaurant sent an email to cancel my booking as they had been fully booked for over a month.I complained to Open Table who " claimed" to work closely with restauranteurs .....OH REALLY?Anyone thinking of using Open Table ....my advice is don't bother.
I've been using Open Table for several years now. I make reservations often - maybe once a month - and have never had a single problem. It's very easy to use - with a few clicks on the site (or app) I can make a reservation. I also don't receive constant e-mails - just reminders about the reservation a day or so beforehand. PLUS...you get points every time you make (and keep) a reservation. Bonus!
I tried to post a factual review on a restaurant to the Opentable website, which Opentable refused to publish.
I posted a factual review on Opentable on the Trustpilot website, which was withdrawn (because Opentable reported it).
I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
We recently booked a small wedding reception on 12/18/2014 at the Classic Cup around 4pm on OpenTable. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that the restaurant does not serve dinner until 5pm, although we could order alcohol and appetizers. Moreover, the manager stated they have contacted OpenTable numerous times about booking reservations for this time period, and they have failed to change it in their computer system. Really poor service if you ask me. We won't use them again.
I signed up for this site and it was awful. Serval emails a week and when you try to unsubscribe it is impossible. Basically if you click unsubscribe the only option it gives you is more emails. I attempted to contact support for three weeks with NO RESPONSE. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and finally got notice that my account has been deactivated but I wouldn't be surprised if I continue to get spam from them.
