I am a conservative that craves intellectual discussion regarding today's events and without childish criticism. Since Facebook and Twitter leave little to be desired with respect from a non hater, non smart a** adult discussion, I turned to Parler. I am an Economist, and an educated man that enjoys an open discussion regarding all subject matter that hopefully won't turn into name calling, or similar types of childish banter. I am not eluding that Parler had this type of behavior; however, it still leaves much to be desired regarding adult conversations. Parler is filled with media posts, stories, etc regarding all the hot buttons the left and right differ on; right down to me being called a sheep for wearing a mask during this pandemic, which by the way is required of me to frequent any store, or other commercial establishment in my state. Though I attempted to spur discussion within Parler regarding intellectual events regarding today's economy, new housing and median income information from 2019, it seemed all news channels basically ignored it and anyone in Parler had no response to it despite it's great achievement showing President Trump in a very positive light! The social media site members ignored any discussion but was happier to continue to show the same old memes, repost months of the same old stories regarding the riots, and racism and "voted up" any time I would comment on said memes or stories. Though these stories are important, as well as many others, it appears they are only placed in Parler for window dressing with little serious intellectual discussion regarding the subjects. Even the Fox News media only spoke briefly about such great economic news regarding the rise in 2019 income, lowering of poverty, etc and those from Fox who are part of Parler were still happier just posting the same ol same ol stuff about the riots, etc from what I can only think is because those other subjects like riots insight more emotion, but little thought. Parler isn't for me. Though a conservative I like more than just the blind reposts of the same ol and other members who can do more than just rehash the same right hot buttons that makes Parler no better than Facebook or Twitter with respect to content.
