As a former Reddit user, I’m extremely disappointed with the platform’s disregard for user privacy. I had posted personal content, including my own photographs, under my accounts. After deciding I no longer wanted that content public, I found out there was no way to remove it — even though I was the original poster — because my accounts were deactivated and the images remained online.I submitted multiple removal requests using Reddit’s official form, contacted support, and received only automated replies with no resolution. Despite their claims to care about user privacy, Reddit continues to retain and display personal images even when a user explicitly asks for them to be taken down.Even worse, one of my images was attached to a comment containing antisemitic hate speech, and Reddit moderators took no action. The comment remains visible, and Reddit support refused to intervene. This platform has become a digital wild west, with no meaningful moderation, no respect for personal dignity, and no accountability. If you value your privacy and safety, stay far away from Reddit.
