I ordered a Washer & Dryer set online. It arrived 3-4 weeks later, I watched the guy unload it carefully and gently. That night my fiance and I removed the packaging and very carefully put them in place. We test them...washer works great but thr dryer makes this terrible noise! I have an easy experience scheduling a service tech to look into (at no cost to me since it's within my warranty period). The soonest appt was a week out so we wait patiently & do laundry at friend's houses. Tech comes, takes the front off the machine, checks some wires & tells me their is an issue with the frame's bottom (which he advises isn't considered repeairable) that's causing the problem - not once did he try to run it to hear the noise. He instructs me to contact Samsung Customer Service in 24-48 hrs (giving him time to submit his assessment to their system) & that they'd likely give me a refund or offer an exchange. I'd've been fine with either, I just wanted a functiong dryer, but I was told that damage to the frame isn't covered by the warranty because they consider it "damage incurred from installation." After a long, frustrating call (in which I was asked if I took pics upon its arrival to prove that the dryer arrived in tip top shape - who takes pics of the bottom of a new dryer?!) that ended with my being stuck with a $700 brand new malfunctioning dryer my fiance and I decide to take the dryer apart and see what we can do to try and fix the "damaged frame." We had nithing to lose at this point. The frame is 100% fine...the issue is the fan is hitting its housing unit, but we're unable to remove the piece to "shave" the fan blades - but we realize if we tilt the fan's housing unit upwards ever so slightly the problem goes away. So we start to reassemble the machine and before we put the front back in place we go to put something under the fan unit to tilt it up but we turn the drum to see if it's still making noise and lo and behold no more noise! We decided to just finish putting the front piece on and test it...works perfectly! I'm thrilled that it works now and that my money didn't go to waste, but I'm infuriated that Samsung's tech didn't identify the real issue and that their warranty didn't cover the issue and expected me to prove that the internal "frame" was malfunctioned upon arrival in order to even entertain any sort of alternative solution. They wouldn't even send another technician out! I will never buy another appliance from Samsung, this was the first time and will be the last time. I strongly discourage using your hard earned money on their appliances because you risk being stuck with appliances that are damaged upon arrival - they will take 0 responsibility.
