I cannot believe I am still with this company after 50+ years of pathetic customer service. My only excuse is that it creates a lot of drama if you decide to change telecommunications providers. Emails have to be changed, companies who have that email address have to be notified and the same applies to phone numbers and internet addresses. I have had the worst possible things happen via this company - many years ago I was charged for a Commander System that I have never had and then when they finally believed me, they told me I would have to continue paying for the phone system until they discovered which customer they should be charging. I had to take days off work to be able to spend the time going through all the hoo haa trying to convince them that I did not have this system. My next large drama, oh yes many other things happened in between but not to the magnitude of the major reasons for my anger, was when my landline phone number was given to a neighbour two doors down the street and I was given their number - how's that for privacy and confidentiality. This one took Telstra months and months to finally decide that I was right when I said that one of their technicians had obviously pulled out two connections at their node and put them back in the wrong ports. How's that forthe technical dexterity of Telstra employees? Now I find that Telstra has changed my plan without my knowledge or consent and told me they had sent me an email advising of the changes - they did not send the email to my Telstra internet email only to a gmail account that they insisted I create many years ago to ensure they had an alternate way of communicating with me should their Telstra system not be working. The gmail account has never been used by me so the last place I would look for an email from Telstra was the gmail account. They didn't bother sending the email to the same place they sent my monthly Telstra bills. When I rang Telstra to discuss the matter they advised that I should use the Telstra app if I wanted to get a quicker response from them. I checked the Telstra app only to find thousands of complaints advising Telstra that the app has never worked properly and is still not working. I would give Telstra a negative rating but they do not give customers the opportunity of freedom of speech.
