VENMO is perfect for CRIMINALS!!!

VENMO is perfect for CRIMINALS!!!! They also have no purchase protection, so have fun living on the edge. They lost me as a customer and I will never use their services or recommend them at all. Venmos fine print "clearly states" they are only for paying money to friends and family. Basically anyone who you actually know and completely trust. They have this disclaimer instead of declaring that they have no purchase protection and cannot protect you from loss of money. I am baffled because this company is OWNED by Paypal and Paypal has awesome purchase protection in place. I use Paypal almost every day and have never had an issue. My case with Venmo involved purchasing something on facebook market place and the item was never mailed to me as promised. As soon as I knew it was a case of fraud, I tried to call venmo but because of the virus their customer service by phone was done, because my payment had not yet cleared, I went to my bank and did a stop payment. I then emailed Venmos customer service to notify them of the fraud. They told me that they say the stop payment but paid the customer anyway " for me" as if they did me a favor. I got a police report and disputed the entire thing, climbed the ladder of management to plead my case but they just stuck to the fine print. The worst part is that even with requests for management to call me and emailing customer service...they charged my discover card without my authorization to cover their payment (on my behalf) to the criminal ( who is also a venmo customer and will get away with his crime.)They justified the charge to my discover card by quoting their fine print again. I should have been given the option to pay another way if that was going to be the outcome....and also been given a chance to a fair "trial" with more adequate communication. The virus can only be blamed for so much....bad customer service is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. They made it clear that they never call customers concerning disputes even if they request a call. Also, I told them that it is insane to me that I cannot communicate through their App with the guy who stole my money, and yet they had all this guys information and had the police report and they will not prosecute or approach the customer in anyway to hold him accountable. How about tell him that he is no longer able to use venmo and he violated their trust??!! NO JUSTICE! HORRIBLE COMPANY! If anyone asks if you have venmo, say NO!!!!!
