Newport News Best Western Hidden Fees

I recently stayed at this hotel-- my wife and I brought our dog. I made the reservation well in advance, described the dog (18 lbs, 12 inches tall), and was told my 2 night stay would be $319 an change plus some fees and taxes-- this would include a fee for the dog-- which was fine. The day before the 4 hour drive to the hotel from my home I received a confirmation email which included "other taxes and fees" (not individually detailed but grouped together) taking the "TOTAL STAY" price to $369.77. When we arrived the next day prepared to pay the TOTAL STAY fee of $369.77 I was hit with another charge of $30 for my pet. Despite knowing about the pet (they even had the description), they said because I had made my reservation by phone, it hadn't been included in the TOTAL STAY charges (which, again, included the taxes and fees I'd been told to expect). Having no choice at that point but to agree (we didn't have time to try and hike all over Newport News looking for a comparable hotel that accepted pets. Besides, because I booked this at a lower rate, the room was non refundable) we felt forced to accept. Upon returning home I called Best Western to dispute the added fee and asked that they refund just the $30. They offered me a $50 coupon- useless b/c I might not ever stay in a Best Western again and I'd have to spend more money to be compensated for their error. I was told they'd get back to me in 2-5 days (they didn't) and when I had to call again a week later I was told that they had they right to tack on this fee AFTER THE TOTAL STAY EMAIL AND WHILE I WAS STRANDED IN THEIR LOBBY WITH NO OTHER LEGITIMATE OPTIONS. Beware this horrible company and they're predatory practices. I will never stay at one of their hotels again and will strongly advise friends and family to do the same.

Do not sign up for anything with Adobe, particularly '7 day free' deals. They are a honey trap and will keep trying to extract cash from you indefinitely for no service. If you cancel, they'll hit you with a big cancellation fee. Total rip off!

The free trial will lock you into a 1 year recurring subscription if you don't unsubscribe. There are no additional rollover effects to your plan either and there are additional cancellation fees. If you miss one payment, they will lock your account and you will have to reset the password. Do not let your children or yourself use this service without immediately unsubscribing from the free trial. So not only are you limited to 10 Downloads per month, getting a years worth of downloads means you have to login once every month for 10 jpegs.

Worst services you can imagine, a total scam

Wanted to try their services for free with the free trial only to find out they charge me for a year worth 55€ for a "free trial". Their customer services is absolutly useless and incompetent, the refund form does not help you by any mean, they only offer me 6 month on top of the year worth of subscription or a 25% refund. I had to go throught a whole month of fight with their customer support, sending dozen of email, only 1/4 got answers. I finaly win and got my full refund to this day. By any mean, do NOT use their service, this is a pure scam, if you don’t push them to the edge, they simply wont give your money back.

TikTok the worst customer support…

TikTok the worst customer support ever!!! They banned my profile, without notice, without warning, anything!!! The account is used by my daughter and its supervised by me. No nudity, no racism, no anything bad or violating the rules! The accoutnis banned and I cannot get the information about the reasons!!! Nobody is answering my tickets submited several times!!! My kid is crying every day cause she had huge group of friends their, singing dancing and having fun all together. This is disaster!!! Tiktok the worst!! Obviously, no accountable people to lead and behave proffedionaly towards customers.

Very poor online service

Very poor online service, should stick to in store sales. I am waiting on a parasol delivery since 26 April, it’s 12 May now, keep sending me notifications that it will be delivered in 2 days and then it doesn’t turn up but get a message the day it should have been deliver to tell me that it will be delivered in another two days, never acknowledging the delivery has been rescheduled for no reason several times, the parasol base came over a week ago, also got a seat cover for a chair with no cushion inside it, just the cover, had to order the cushion stuffing bit separately but site didn’t make that clear. I ordered the stuffing but God knows when I will get it, ordered it over a week ago and no mention as to when they will deliver. I have a parasol base and no parasol and a chair with a cushion cover material and no cushion, IKEA the wonderful in instalments at their choosing. I will never use their website again.

It was very easy to sign up for a security freeze.

It was any easy experience to sign up with Experian. It is giving me peace of mind. I had received notification that my information was for sale on the dark web so I decided to put a security freeze on my account so that no one would be able to take out a loan in my name. I certainly hope it works.

Fake website not selling actual product

I have purchased kids toy set cost Rs. 799/- on 19th APR 2025. They were trying to deliver empty box on 27th APR 2025. Though it's a new website, I didn't make online payment. I opted for COD. Otherwise I would have lost my money. Don't trust this website anymore.

I find that Reuters is a good global…

I find that Reuters is a good global and national news source. I do notice quite a bit of bias in the reporting and have lodged complaints with them but the fella that I complained to, Brian Moss, seemed to be not interested and disregarded my concerns. If you have half a brain you can understand the bias wording that is used by their writers and they seem to be obsessed with illegal immigrants in America and not with all the illegal migrants sneaking into the UK.
