Review of claude

"good at writing code"

Claude was recommended to me because it was supposedly "good at writing code". So I started using the free version. It was performing well with the basics, but I hit the usage limit very quickly. So I purchased the paid plan. My usage limit got extended, but I hit the usage limit again in under an hour of work. Timeout of 3 hours. Hm, ok.After the timeout, I started working again. I crafted a prompt explaining that it's critical to follow the docs and provided all the required references. Nevertheless, Claude opted to ignore my provided references and proceeded to hallucinate its own solutions (which didn't work). Struggling to make Claude work, I spent an hour and didn't make any significant progress on my project. Then I hit the usage limit again. My experience was infuriating.Conclusion - Claude may be good at writing basic code, but for anything beyond basics, it's really bad. It cannot follow the instructions provided and will prefer its lackluster knowledge base over the handpicked correct information that is provided to it. And to top it all, the usage limit is too small to get any serious work done. Claude is a bad alternative to other LLM solutions.

If I could award Kickstarter zero stars I Would.

If I could award Kickstarter zero stars I would. They started out OK with low valued items being honoured by people who crowdfunded their products. I pledged $154.00 for Vinylsonic a record cleaning device that was a lot cheaper than all other similar devices and was told that the item will ship approximately December 2022. Once December 2022 arrived I could see that many other pledgers hadn't heard a thing from Vinylsonic as they were leaving messages on their comments page requesting updates or refunds. Even today people are doing this but Vinylsonic have not responded to anyone. We had hoped that Kickstarter would intervene and do something about it as it is now obviously a scam. I was lucky, I paid by credit card and after informing them what had happened, they refunded me all my money. I will never use Kickstarter again. Lesson learned.

Ridiculous

Ridiculous. Ordered a PC component online for a client due to the fact that they showed it in stock at a store a few cities over. Shipping said it would arrive next day which was exactly what I needed. Got an email over night, sent to me at 3am and I saw it at 6am. Order was delayed and new delivery date was 3 weeks out. Obviously this was an issue. Immediately tried searching the website for a cancel option. Links take you in a loop from your order details page back to profile. No option to cancel. Click customer support and it just links to a bunch of FAQ's. Had to search for the live-agent-chat hidden on the site.I want to add, these big companies need to stop subbing out customer support to offshore companies that barely speak english and are no help. I explained to the agent that I needed to either cancel the order or switch it to in-store pickup. I verified BEFORE contacting them that the order was not processed or shipped yet. Status still showed that only data was sent to carrier. Also verified that only a pending charge was on the credit card used (bestbuy site states card will be charged only when product ships).Only response I got was "The cancel button is greyed out, I'm sorry but you cannot cancel your order."I explained again, it was crucial this got resolved because I cannot charge several thousand for the same component on the same card a day apart.Same basic #** response, buttons greyed out there's nothing they can do.I try again with a different agent on my lunch break around 11am. This rep said yes that they could have escalated it earlier before the item shipped, but now it was too late. Status still shows item was not shipped on tracking number, bestbuy site, and no charge on my card yet so I feel like this is not a legit response. This rep said they'd be happy to let me get refunded in 3 weeks by going to the store. Corporate way of saying "Hey, sucks for you". They also told me just to contact my bank and tell them to remove the charge. So, if they are telling me to backcharge it while it's still processing, I guess I will listen to what they told me and do exactly that.So now I'm stuck with a pending charge on a card for an item I could have just driven 20 minutes to get because Best Buy didn't want to cancel or change to in-store pickup. Also lost the client.No wonder more and more people order from Amazon and other reputable sites now that actually have good customer service. Last time I purchase anything from BestBuy.

I used to use TripAdvisor in planning 3-4 trips a year. However the website has become an unusable mess, popups that cover 75% of the screen when I am trying to view photos of properties etc. Absolutely the worst piece of system design I have ever seen. Now using other sites to plan/book my trips.

Review of Spotify

Spotify deleting small artists music…

First off all I must say that it is a well-functioning, clear app. (For the biggest part) Unfortunately they took one of my songs offline due to fake streams. Fake streams from the US while I make music in my native language: (Dutch). This is therefore of no use to me other than the number (which is about +- 2k streams). I didn't use any weird promotional tools or request or pay for any third-party playlists. Many small artists have the same problems. (You can see it on youtube) Random people test and/or place bots on your music. Then Spotify just deletes your music without any proof that you bought these fake streams.My distributor (Distrokid) doesn't do anything about it either. It's the second time I've been added to a weird playlist and I didn't choose for it. They told me that if you see any strange activity, to report it to Distrokid immediately. But before I could even do anything, my music was already deleted. (This is because I was on vacation and didn't keep an eye on my songs for a few weeks).In my opinion Spotify is responsible for this. They need to punish the guy who makes these weird playlists. Not the artist who didn't ask/pay for it. It is sad that the opposite of the law applies here. Guilty until proven innocent. I speak on behalf of many artists who have the same problem. I pay a lot of money to have 1 song online. 300+ euro. You think I'll risk all this for just 2k (fake) streams? While I have already achieved 10k+ organically on 1 song? It's time to work on this! Now you can punish every small artist by throwing/having fake streams thrown on there song(s). And it just gets deleted. Spotify i know its frustrating that people pay for fake streams. That doesn’t mean everyone is buying them or have control on it…
