DO NOT USE AGODA I would give 0 stars if I could. The stress and inconvenience this company has caused us is a joke.We booked and paid for accommodation in Pai, Thailand, through Agoda, travelled 4 hours from our previous destination to get there, only to arrive at our accommodation at 7:30pm to find out they didn’t have a room for us (NOT the hosts fault, as Agoda had kept the room available even though it had been booked). The woman who worked there told us she had called Agoda to inform them of this and they had told her they would be contacting me to inform me and find alternative accommodation. Agoda had not contacted me at all, not even an email to cancel the booking. I was completely unaware we had no place to stay for the night. Unfortunately for us there was absolutely no accommodation available in Pai, we had no where to stay for the night.We spoke to Agoda customer service on the phone who told us they were going to find us alternative accommodation for the night. We recieved an email an hour later informing us they could not find us anywhere. Obviously we had already looked and knew that this was the case, we were stranded in a new town with no place to stay. Luckily a lady we met called a place she knew who had had a cancellation for the night. If we didn’t get this luck, Agoda’s actions would have left us on the streets all night.To note, we received a refund and £37 ‘AgodaCash’ to use on their website. I insisted that this be instead transferred to my bank account, which they did do. Only positive I have to say for them, however £37 did not cover how much it cost us to travel to a place we had no where to stay.
