No booking recorded when we arrived!

When we arrived at our hotel the hotel had no record of our booking. Luckily I had the confirmation and they had a spare room for us. This had a knock on effect with breakfast as this wasn’t recorded either. Thankfully the hotel staff were happy to ring and work this out whilst we left luggage and continued with our weekend. I am concerned about my other booking I have as I can see many other people have had this experience.
