Completely let down! Never again!

I received email confirmation of my booking through booking.com on 14/05/25. I had booked a one night stay at The Old Rectory, Campsea Ashe on 28/06/25. I received my next email notification from Booking.com on 24/06/25 telling me that my payment was due the next day. The next email I received from Booking.com was at 8:31am on Sat 28th June telling me that I had a message from The Old Rectory. This message said that they were looking forward to welcoming me and to please send them my arrival time. When I arrived at The Old Rectory late afternoon, there was no one there to meet me. The only person there was a lady who was helping set up for breakfast. I explained that I had booked for this evening and she gave me a number for two people to contact. I called both numbers and the response I got was that they knew nothing about my booking and they told me that they were fully booked for that evening. One of the women told me that it was the fault of Booking.com and that they had over booked. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I hadn't had a break in over 7 years and I was so looking forward to it. I felt completely let down and didn't feel that I wanted to stay and find alternative accommodation so I just headed back home. I will never use Booking.com again!
