Booking.com are great until you want to make a complaint. My Son booked an apartment through booking com (Studio Apartment, near city centre, Salford), the reviews/photos looked good on their website. On arrival it wasa completely different story. There was urine in the lift, a heavy smell of drugs and the door to the apartment was unlocked. Inside, the room had clearly not been prepared/cleaned. I raised a complaint at the end of April, chased numerous times (via email) but got no response. I ended up having to call them 5 times to be told that the owner of the property had advised that my son had made the mess in the room! He literally spent 5 minutes in the room to take photos as evidence and then messaged the owner who completely ignored him.Booking.com have taken his word for it and closed the case! The fact that this property no longer appears on the website speaks volumes. My son lost £191 and they really don't care. Please book with caution and make sure you research accommodation yourself before booking - do not trust their reviews.
