Poor customer service

Booking.com's customer service is so bad. I booked a hotel for a trip with my family. I did not expect the hotel to be a great one but just needed a place to sleep. But once we got there the hotel was falsely advertised. The hotel looked more like a crack den. The room smelled heavily of smoke, only one outlet worked and despite having an AC it was locked and you could not turn it on. I left and found a new hotel as my family could not stay there. Bookings customer service told me it was my fault for booking the room with a low rating and they would do me a favor and give me a $12 credit on their app for my next booking. The pictures of the hotel and the room were far different that what is reality and yet they aren't willing to help. Don't use them, it's better to use your money with a hotel directly.
