There are good aspects to Cengage, so they get an extra star for that. The BAD is that the day the course is over (regardless of the date your paid access expires) you, as a student, have zero access to anything. You cannot see assignments, grades, or the textbook. If the class was a prerequisite class for another class, you'd better have learned everything perfectly, because there's no looking back to review. If you don't agree with your class grade from the professor once it finally posts in the school records, you can't go back and look at your online grades to dispute it. The good is that you can redo assignments and watch video explanations of how to do sample problems. The good does not outweigh the bad. Online texts and assignments are a bad way to go in the long run.
