I opened a brand-new Etsy seller account, linked to my registered UK company and passport for ID purposes, and uploaded three completely policy-compliant products. Within less than 24 hours, my account was permanently suspended without warning or explanation.I submitted an appeal, outlining that I had violated no terms, but it was swiftly denied using automation (apparently, a "comprehensive review" of my account was done in less than two minutes). Etsy cited "risk concerns" but refused to disclose any details. They offered no evidence, no chance to address the issue, and no transparency whatsoever.Despite never being able to use the platform or receive any services, Etsy still charged me £11 for beginning my Seller Account, plus VAT, plus three sets of listing fees. They have not refunded it (nor even responded to my follow-ups or requests), and I will now be pursuing a chargeback with my bank. This process is automated, unaccountable, and unfair. If you're a new seller considering Etsy, beware: your account can be shut down instantly, and not only will you be left in the dark, you will also be out of pocket and out of options.
