We booked a hotel in Conway, South Carolina and wanted to change the dates by one day. Reached out to customer service and was told to cancel the reservation and that they would request a waiver and we could change the dates. Upon cancellation of the $400 reservation we were told that a waiver would not be granted, and our insurance was not valid Because no one was in the hospital or passed away. Expedia said they reached out to the property and they denied our request for a cancellation and rebook. But when we spoke with the property, they never talked to Expedia and they had no problem with the change. Talk to a supervisor with customer service and they said that as their policy That their instructed to advise cancellation request a waiver, but it is up to the property to approve the waiver. Again, she said the property said no but when we spoke for the property, they denied speaking with Expedia and any form. We could’ve booked an extra day for $70 but instead we were out at $350 that we booked and the insurance that we paid for and Expedia kept saying sorry. When I ask by the gentleman who told us to cancel, didn’t say sorry that we had booked a Nonrefundable room instead of offering a waiver after cancellation she said again that it’s a policy. We have used Expedia for years, but this is the last time.
