Awful. Do not use

Will never buy direct from HP again. Bought daughters computer (Christmas present) November 11th - put away for Christmas. Unwrapped and we were all in tears, she was ECSTATIC. Made our day. However... We set it up boxing day, she's playing roblox and the screen keeps going black every 30 seconds or so. Figure graphic card needs updating or the like, so clicked "update all" where prompted. Screen turned black with corrupted line of text across the top. Tried C-prompt, reset, nothing worked. Computer now turning itself off after a couple of minutes being on...Called HP, woman with limited script tells us we need to delete and reinstall windows, which she offers to take us through - provided we have a 16gb flash stick handy. We don't, so she tells us to go out and buy one! By this point I'm not convinced this is a windows issue, so ask for replacement because this looks hardware related (turning itself off etc) - want a machine that at the VERY LEAST works it's best from day one.Because ordered over 30 days ago, (although realised it was a Christmas present) there is nothing they can do. Yes, they accept it is faulty, yes, they have used my mobile phone to check the screen via camera and can literally SEE there's a problem, but 30 days tough luck.I quote their OWN WEBSITE based on the Consumer Goods Act stating faults dealt with up to 6mths with refund/exchange (ie, onus on them to prove item NOT faulty when delivered, after 6 months I have to prove) and we go round and round "you had 30 days to change your mind" at which point, I'm pulling hair out (and have been on call for 1.5hrs)A supervisor takes over and claims the same thing. No one else we can speak to, recognises that according to the terms on the website we have done everything correctly, but someone else needs to authorise the replacement - and they'll be in touch within 24-48hrs. That was 5 days ago.Absolute con. Do not use.
