The IHG reward program is a 'currency' that has been devalued by as much as 50% in the last years since IHG started selling reward points. The sale of points is to entrap or encourage onward bookings, however, the offer is too good as its buy one get % free etc. Okay, BUT the value of 1000 points was around £8.50 to £10 when 'traded' but now its £4 to £4.50 for 1000 points so actual loyal customers staying night after ni ght have seen their rewards halved.
