I have a whole history with it I will gladly share. As we all know, Instagram is a major picture-based social platform serving as a core for many types of users: businesses, artists, common folk that is sharing with friends. It is easy, straightforward, what might be an issue?Few years ago I started drawing and began participating in various challenges all over the web. Just imagine - you have no name, you post with certain hashtags and voilà - not only people see you in "recents", you see small people too! Ain't that great? That what social networks should do and it is great. Was great. So what went wrong? "Safety measures". You might argue that they are greedy and want to monetize their leviathans more, but ultimately they disabled "recents" for the sake of defending their users against illegal content. So, no community drive anymore, only consuming. Small artists complained a little, AI scraping went out, everyone switched their attention to the bigger thing and this amazing decision silently stayed with us. It is only natural when majority doesn't care. So, I switched my art account's platform, staying here only to see photo updates from friends. And yeah, even here they managed to make things worse. It is 2025, and users aren't protected enough. Old accounts are still here, still assumingly post stuff that offend Community Standards. How dare they!Well, lucky me, I wasn't caught in the maelstrom of unreasonable bans, but in something different and I can't even say what it is. Recently I tried to change my username, I done it successfully, but... it haven't changed. I got a mail that it was changed indeed, but now I can't login using my credentials (my mail, my phone number, my username) show that my password is wrong. And whenever I reset it to itself, in the final window in shows that my username is old, my password is the same. And the only login that works is the reset itself (to any other password), because otherwise it yet again tells me that any combination is wrong with no support I can contact, "just reset the password". So here I am thinking: should I reset password once more to login via desktop, create a new account without my history or forget about this madness whatsoever? Sadly I will choose second above third because of people I care about in this mess of a dying "social" platform.
