Synchrony is AWFUL!!! I have been a Lowe's customer for over 30 years. It was all fine until Synchrony came into the picture. Recently, I was sent a brand-new Lowe's card to replace the old one. I called and validated the card. I then went to Lowes and purchased over $300 worth on merchandise. Imagine how shocked I was whenever the cashier informed me that my card was blocked!!! I called Synchrony and I was treated like a criminal. They put me through a terrible ordeal of videotaping myself as well as sending copies of my driver's license etc. Then they informed me that I had to go through the whole process again!!! The Lowe's clerk was terrific and tried to help as much as possible. I finally became so disgusted that I left my entire cart and exited the store. Whenever I came home, there was a message from Synchrony telling me to contact them because "someone" was trying to use may card!!! I called them and explained the whole situation. The kept telling me that they were sorry. "Sorry" did not cut it after I had been treated like a felon and put through the mill by this uncaring bunch of drones!!!I also informed them that I was not happy with having to pay a fee for paper billing after spending thousands of dollars in the store. "We are so sorry," was the response from the moron on the phone. I then informed them that I wanted to cancel my Lowescard. "Are you sure?" I was asked. Of course, I was damn sure that I wanted nothing to do with Lowes ever again. I stated that I would take my business to Home Depot. This is sad because the clerk at Lowes was so pleasant and helpful. It would have been a great experience if it weren't for weren't for Synchrony. Their people were so uncaring and unsympathetic. Perhaps, I should have just walked out with the merchandise since I was treated like a criminal anyway.
