We were aboard the Liberty of the Seas for a 4 night cruise. We had 2 stops one being Coco K, the other Nassau, Bahamas. The staff were amazing and very helpful, the food decent, but i had a few gripes. One is if you are looking for a couples cruise, this is not for you. I found our cruise to be packed with kids & teenagers, many of which were just let loose on the ship.. our room number was 1234...the first night i literally had to disconnect our phone because kids were just dialing extensions and crank calling rooms, 1234 being a number they called repeatedly. It was almost impossible to use the pool...people get up and set up their towels around the pool for the day...even when they are not there. They need to do something about this, if a person is not at their chair for a few hours...they should get booted, not be able to take poolside seats and then not even be there to use them. Overall I felt the cruise was just a budget cruise for people with kids. We signed up for 6 o'clock dinner service when we booked, once we were on we were told we had choosen my time dinner, which means you go when you want...we certainly did NOT choose this, but rather then make a big deal made our time for 7:15...The dining room with set times had very little lines and seemed to go much smoother. We feel they were full and overflowed us to the my time dining. Everynight it was chaotic ...lines with kids...as a couple we wanted some level of privacy, but most nights were squeezed in near large, nosiey parties. I would suggest they make a small area for couples and just turn those 2 seater tables for couples. The food in our assigned dining room was good, but the windjammer buffet was not good in my opinion. Many items on it just tasted like they bought cheap stuff to keep their costs low. Gone are the days of chocolate fountains, midnight buffets and high quality foods. The buffet only ever served chicken thighs and legs, no white meat, the beef dishes just tasted werid and often were just mixed in sauces to try and hid the quality. One night in the dining room we were seated next to a trashy family that used loud foul language throughout the meal...it really ruined the experience. I understand they cant control classless people but maybe a sign asking guests to be respectful of others, and refrain from foul language is necessary...If your looking for anything other then budget, kid friendly activities...this is not for you. For activities there wasnt much...many of the ones listed were basically geared at getting you there to sell you something...a 5 minute massage teaser...to get you to spend money for more..a free bracelet...to sell you charms...Coco K the Royal Carribean island was again geared for kids and families. The activities...many were really expensive over 1000 dollars for beach cabanas....the few activities that were reasonably priced were sold out....its as though they made the island soley to keep peoples money with royal caribbean...instead of letting them spend it on islands. Again our cabin attendent and the dining staff were excellent, but the cruise ship basically docks back at port and within hours they are back at sea with a new group...this constant turning does not allow them to properly clean the ships. The deck was very dirty...i could see the glass and window siles were filthy...if they werent so concerned with maximizing profits they might actually give their people time to clean. Other then another cruise i take on their ships, but which is chartered by another company I do not see myself cruising with them again.
