God help you if you need customer support

The website does a lot of things right, but gets a tremendous amount of things wrong. I'm writing this to let anyone thinking of using them know the good and the bad. The Good: Good website creation tools and ecommerce tools. Very flexible. Lots of apps to enrich your site.The Bad: Absolutely atrocious customer service. Nickel and dime you for anything you want to add to your site. I'm posting this because, as of this writing, it has been almost exactly 30 days since I have received a payout from them. That's right. One month since they've paid me. It's a little under $1,000. Not much to a large company like Shopify, but a staggering amount to me.I contacted them yesterday and was told--by what felt suspiciously like AI--that they didn't know why I hadn't been paid, and that they would "escalate" the issue. A day later, I contacted them again because I hadn't heard from anyone. I was told by the chat person/bot that they realized this was frustrating and rest assured, they were on it. But they added that "this may take some time to work out."To have a customer report that they have not been paid in a month and then give that customer absolutely no assurances that they will be paid quickly nor any information as to why they haven't been paid, is a failure. By not having anyone follow up on this in more than 24 hours is a failure. It means that the company either doesn't care enough to contact me, or there's too much incompetence to contact me. I'm not sure which is worse.Shopify is an okay--albeit expensive--platform to sell on as long as absolutely nothing goes wrong. But if *anything at all* goes wrong, you are in for a very, very bad time.
