The concert itself, what there was of it, was fantastic. Stray Kids performed amazingly considering the conditions. They should not have had to keep pausing the show, ultimately ending the show early due to lack of planning on the part of the venue or the promoter. I would have been sad with a postponement or cancellation of the show however performers and attendees were put in serious health danger by being out in extreme weather conditions like the heat index we experienced in DC on Monday evening. The venue was ill prepared to handle both the conditions and the crowd which really blows my mind considering they are a baseball stadium and they host baseball games all summer long in the same type of heat. The email I received said one unopened bottle of water per person would be allowed. I can’t tell you how many water bottles I saw being discarded as I waited in line to get through security because the guards were telling people they couldn’t bring them in! Thankfully I was able to purchase water before getting to my seats. The venue should be ashamed for charging people $6-8 a bottle. They also seemed to have plenty of alcohol but not enough water. How does that even happen?! I understand you can’t predict the weather, however, I knew for 5 days prior what the weather in DC and across the majority of the East Coast was going to be. Plans should have been put in place to make sure those in attendance were taken care of and not put in danger of heat stroke. The performers as well!! I felt incredibly bad for those young men. If the venue can’t handle crowds and weather, maybe Ticketmaster/ Live Nation shouldn’t be choosing to schedule concerts there. Do better!
