This bank offered 4.5% to deposit new money and convert to a Platinum Saving account. I was not informed about this special when I deposited over 92 thousand dollars in Jan 2024. Not until I came back Feb. 2024 to deposit another40 thousand more to my children's account was I told about the offer. I was told I could go back and get this offer on my acct. and I would talk to my children on their acct. I wanted to come back when my husband would be with me. So I deposited into their savings account and told them I would be back the next day to convert my checking acct to the savings account. Problem was the banker did not give me a QR codes and when my husband and I went back the next day we were informed about this code. At the time I only had the sheets of information the banker gave me the day before and did not know what she was talking about. They could not take care of it at the branch immediately that day and I was told I would have to wait up to 14 days to put in a request to see if they would allow me to convert after depositing. So I went home and contacted customer service. They opened a complaint and I was told to wait untill I was contacted. After explaining and waiting almost 4 months to get my account straighted out and moving monies I was not given the interest rate from the day of the deposits. If I had known the bank was not acting in good faith to correct there mistake which they did acknowledge, I would have taken my money out of this bank immediately! My husband and I are terminal and the stress going back and fourth with this bank and getting screwed out of months of interest which is several hundred dollars, while they decided how to handle their mistake was the worst experience I have ever had with a bank! You wait weeks and their customer service is outsourced outside of the US. I have other accts with Chase and Bank OZK and regret ever using this bank for a large deposit of new money. Everyone passes the buck and the branch manager even after acknowledging mistakes were made and was willing to be fair, has to defer to a process that ultimately rips the customer off! I tried several times to reach upper management but they are well hidden within the organazation so that really was futile. I was told I was unable to directly contact them or leave a message with their secretary that I had to go through their process using the customer service Chanels. Just a lot of time explaining to people who had no authority to correct the account or direction. Mind you all the while my money sat earning nothing. I was looking for good service and a brick and morter bank that I could grow my money with. I definitely do not recommend this bank!
