HP is the poster child for enshittification (a Cory Doctorow term -- look it up). They continually raise the price of their Instant Ink subscription by huge amounts without adding any additional value. The latest increase in April 2025 (for "keeping up with rising costs" -- that's excellent comedy HP!), announced yesterday, is likely enough to drive me to buy a printer from another company, despite the financial and environmental cost of binning my HP printer. My printer's software and HP's online software are also highly unreliable and unpredictable. The printer prints well, but that's not enough.
