Emirates Airlines abandoned us !!

Emirates - utter disgrace how we were treated !!!This is a somewhat lengthy read but I ask you to read it as I am sure it is representative of many many other recent experiences with Emirates Airlines from the recent Dubai airport disruption. We received email 17th April inviting us to check in on line for flights on 19th April EK657 Male to Dubai and EK9 Dubai to Gatwick. We checked in on-line 17th April for both flights, seats had been previously purchased as pre-booked. Confirmation received from Emirates that on-line check-in successful.Departed resort at 05.30am 19th April for 09.15 flight EK657 Male to Dubai. At Emirates bag drop Male airport at about 07.00am the Emirates check-in clerk said that Emirates would only accept our bags for Dubai if we accepted that our flight ended in Dubai and that Emirates had no further travel responsibility for us.We said to Emirates we had flight EK9 booked and confirmed for the same day of 19th April. Emirates clerk said that there were NO FLIGHTS leaving Dubai on 19th April. We said what are we supposed to do in Dubai, and Emirates clerk said it would be down to us to find a flight with whoever we wanted and it would be down to us to find accommodation and get food etc…We said to the Emirates clerk that it was down to them to get us to our final destination. The Emirates clerk disagreed and kept repeating that Emirates would only fly us to Dubai and then in effect abandon us.With this we kept repeating that Emirates had to get us to our final destination and in the end the Emirates check-in clerk took us to the Emirates reservation desk at Male airport. That clerk spent a long time on his phone and looking at his computer. He said there were no flights out of Dubai. We pressed him that Emirates had an obligation to get us to our final destination of London Gatwick. Eventually he suggested a flight on 27th April - he did not say what time, what flight number or even where the flight was going. That was 8 days away and we said what about accommodation and food. The Emirates clerk said it was not Emirates problem and we would have to arrange all accommodation and food ourselves.Meanwhile and whilst these conversations were taking place and at least half a dozen power cuts at Male airport it was announced over the airport public address system that there would be no check-in of any travellers to Dubai who had onward flights from Dubai. The announcement also said that anyone flying to Dubai was required to leave the airport building due to overcrowding. So if you had no onward flight (which nobody had) you would be ejected from Dubai airport with nowhere to go and no way of knowing how or when you could fly out.We asked Emirates about arrangements with other airlines (British Airways, Etihad, Qatar, Singapore Airlines) and the Emirates clerk stated they had no arrangement with these airlines. It starts to become increasingly apparent that Emirates has no contingency planning or disaster planning in place. At this point we were now stranded at Male airport with Emirates Airline effectively washing their hands of any travellers going to Dubai who had onward flights. At this point also Male airport had rapidly filled with travellers not being able to start their journeys. When we had arrived at about 06.30 it was reasonably quiet - by 10.30 there were people everywhere and a lot getting impatient and upset, many with families. It was clearly very distressing for some.We therefore had no choice but to look at other airlines and managed to book with British Airways for 21st April at a cost of $2,700 for 2 economy tickets. This flight is to T5 Heathrow whereas our car is parked at Gatwick North, so our inconvenience will not end when we get to London. For accommodation we made contact with the resort we had been staying at (Eriyadu) and they very professionally arranged to get us back from the airport and has provided accommodation for 2 nights - all at an additional cost to us of $860.Emirates Airlines has to be named and shamed for an utterly contemptible and disgraceful service. They have made a small fortune in the airline business and have failed miserably when so many of their customers needed them to perform. There should be wholesale dismissals within Emirates for complete and utter incompetence, along with the highest possible corporate fines for gross negligence. My battle will continue with Emirates to get my expenses reimbursed.

Booking.com are a shining example of why a no star review is needed on Trustpilot. I strongly advise fellow travelers to do their research on booking.com but once they have found accomodation, book direct with the hotel. Will almost certainly get both better service and a cheaper price.

Review of att

I went on a cruise

I went on a cruise. Prior to departure, I purchased att's "International Day Pass"..., only to find out that this did not cover the period when the ship was actually sailing..., only applied to when the ship was docked at a port. When att informed me of this, I called att customer service to discuss the matter and selected the "call back" option in their call menu. So att called me back on what I thought was a toll free number "+1 (855) 419-7365" only to be charged $3/min Int'l roaming charge for a total of $84. After the cruise, I called att customer service to remove the charge, but they refused insisting that it was not an att number because att customer service is located in the Philippine islands. The worst part is that the very phone number that they called me back on was again... you guessed it "+1 (855) 419-7365. Incredible !!!

Can't wait until AI clones this software and makes it dirt cheap

The software is fine and has always been fine. My review is about customer experience. Adding an extra user license takes seconds. Easiest thing in the world. Removing a license is a pain in the ass and they purposefully make you jump through hoops to get it done. There's early cancellation fees if you want to remove a license before 'contract expiry' and free cancellation is only possible within a termination window. I get that you want to maximize company revenue but Adobe has done so, consistently, at the expense of giving customers a product/service they actually enjoy using. We have a flexible team and we may need more licenses for a product occasionally for a short time. Unless you want to get stuck paying for these licenses for a year or more, even if nobody is using them, do not use Adobe. Adobe's disregard of user experience makes sure that at the earliest possibility I will switch to comparable software with a better pricing and more license/user flexibility. This way of doing business is not the future.

Nothing surprising here

Nothing surprising here, it is the fundamental building block of many of ours childhood! These little bricks have been in the center of my life back when I was a kid, and they are in the same position for a lot of children and my nephews and kids of relatives these days. It is a still great thing for adults as well, because you know how challenging it is when you are invited to the birthday of a 7-year old, or 10-year old, or even a 14-year old. Lego is the solution of all!Because they come in different shapes, concepts and themes. Obviously this is why it can be fun and entertaining for a lot of kids across different age levels. The attention to detail in the sets is mind-blowing sometimes, you know the big things they build with it, the last one i saw on the internet was they build this red sportscar with probably like a million pieces. It might be pricey and costly sometimes with the larger sets but its allright, if you are an aficionado or a collector, its worth it.it is a top tier choice for both kids and a lot of grown ups looking to get creative. Because it is not just about construction! You can create stuff that tells a story, it's like 3d puzzles and can be used to convey your thoughts and opinions in some sort of an art-form.

Legitimate or scam?

I also have received the letter already mentioned telling me I need to register with them for the privilege of paying them £40-60. The letter as already mentioned is written very badly with poor English and provides me with little faith that they are competent to deal with my data, let alone anyone else's. Is this definitely a government requirement or an organisation masquerading as legitimate and really a scam? How can we really find out either way? I also agree with the comments about what do we get for the money and if this is a legitimate scheme, is it nothing more than a money earner for the government, as it does nothing in reality for protecting people's data. This would mean a huge tick the box exercise that achieves very little for business or its customers. This also comes at a time when small businesses are being hit with the introduction of new policies that have financial implications without any prior warning e.g. paying tax a year in advance meaning two years simultaneously, changes to VAT reporting requiring the purchase of software. So the big dogs just keep getting bigger and getting around paying taxes, whilst the SME's continue to fight for survival. Is there anything we can collectively do as a community to protest and try and protect ourselves?

ESPN IS GARBAGE

I would give ESPN a lower rating if I could. Over priced garbage sports channels. I don’t understand why ESPN can’t do a better job for what they charge.

Been offered a 50% discount to renew my sub, however after contacting live chat around 4 times and calling, the customer services just do not believe me. They say it needs to be a new purchase at the full price. I would have renewed with the discount but is seemingly impossible.Further, Customer services have been off shored to India and Philippines and makes for a poor service. Why not just automate it all? I.e. if you are offering me a 50% discount, give me a code and I can punch it in the website on renewal/new purchase?

I never imagined that I would fall victim to a Facebook scam, but I was duped into spending thousands of dollars by someone I met on the social media site. They ceased responding after a few weeks of correspondence, and I came to the conclusion that I had been duped. I was able to sued Facebook for failing to stop the scam because I was determined to get my money back. Following a protracted procedure, Facebook admitted their error and paid me back the money I had lost. Even though it wasn't an easy journey, I appreciate Facebook taking responsibility and the legal support. i was able to achieve all these cause my brother was good to follow up the case and make sure i got my money back if you have similar situation and you will want to recover your lost money back look subject for name write me your situation i will be able to help you most people don't know the process. I learned to be much more cautious when communicating with strangers online as a result of this incident.
