Telephone support received 6 March 2023. Thank you to the employee who assisted me over the telephone with a query on how to fix a problem. He was very patient and went above and beyond in resolving my problem. I was most grateful for the help! Thank you.
Review of paypal
I ordered a piece of scientific equipment and used PayPal credit as I always do.........naively believing that buyer protection meant something!Parcel did not arrive and so I phoned the delivery company and the rep let slip that they never received the parcel. Tried to contact retailer on numerous occasions but retailer did not respond. So, did the "sensible" thing and contacted PayPal to raise the issue. Eventually got an email from the delivery company to say that an investigation had been raised into where parcel is and would take another 10 days.Logged back into PayPal to add the new information only to find there was no option to do this or escalate with the resolution centre. I phoned PayPal to volunteer the new information and ask that it be escalated. Then spent 25 minutes going over everything numerous times and getting no relevant information on timescale from customer service agent on how long the review would take, not even a maximum time for review even when I asked if it could take months or years!I asked if it could be escalated and was told not until the indefinite period of time for review was conducted.I said what happens if in the meantime the parcel is delivered because without knowing where it has been or where it was left I can no longer be sure of the validity of the piece of scientific equipment and it is now useless to me.What is worse she spent most of her time laughing whilst I was trying to get answers to my questions or speak to someone who could answer them. Now I find that I am unable to even make a complaint about PayPal on their website! I get fobbed off by a virtual assistant! Will clear my account and cancel PayPal.
Review of mercari
This was my first time using Mercari. I did not order through the app, but still had to create a profile. Ok. The order went through with no problem. The day after I made the purchase, I got word that my elderly mother (who lives 4 states away from me) had taken a nasty fall and required immediate surgery to save her. I had to leave right away. I was gone for several days and I honestly didn't think much about the order I had made as I was concerned with whether or not my mom was going to live and be able to walk again if she did. The one time I did check my email I did get a message saying that my order had been delivered. I didn't see it on my ring cam & the family members who were home did not see it, so I assumed it had wither not been delivered or that I had been through victim of porch pirates. At no time did I blame the seller. I was upset with the carrier. Things got intense with my mom for a couple days and I forgot about it again. My mom eventually stabilized and I returned home. When I got home I questioned my family about the bear again and my son (whose girlfriend the bear was a gift for) apologize ld and said that he had retrieved it and had forgotten to tell me. So I decided to download the Mercari app to try to go online and correct a complaint I had made about the item having not been delivered. Once I had the app downloaded I decided to catch up on emails & found a few emails from Mercari that I had missed while with my mom. Once I was signed into the app I found several messages from the seller, ine of which accused me of trying to scam her. I really wanted to explain the situation to her, but Mercari had "limited" my activity and I was unable to send her a message at all, but I was able to leave her a review, which I did & attempted to give an honest review and a short explanation. Immediately after I left my review, she left a false, scathing, unfair, and uncalled for review. Mercari does not allow the other person ANY recourse to explain or try to correct the situation. None. I'm fact, in order to attempt to get the "limited activity" restrictions removed or changed at all they expect you to upload a "valid government ID". They want front and back photos. To "verify" you. What online seller need youe driver license? That's a hard pass from me. How many people are going to see that sensitive information? Mercari just expects you to trust their third party "authenticator" after treating the consumer as less than dirt on their over proces shoes. Their treatment of consumers who just want to have a positive shopping experience is wrong and unfair. Thank goodness there are multiple other platforms with which to do business.

Horrendous, avoid at all cost, buy theme license directly from the developer. If I could give a -5 I wouldA theme did not work and it is impossible to get any help or refund. All you get is a reply back asking you to fill out a form. Did this three times and then logged a PayPal issue. Review of duolingo
I have been using Duolingo for a long time. I really do not like that fact that there is no way to give the company feedback. I believe they started out with good intentions, but now just want to make money. They have recently removed many features that long time learners like myself enjoyed - such as the vocabulary list - and there is literally no way to ask them a polite question as to why and whether they might consider replacing it. Also, they have added a lot of new content that are many errors - I am not the only one who has found these - and they have been very slow to correct the mistakes. Finally, they have removed defining what each word or sentence means in English! This is crazy. It doesn't matter if you got it "right" if you don't know what it means. Looking up each word is useless, as sometimes the whole is greater than the parts and the meaning is not obvious.I think they have gone down the rabbit hole of profits...and the product will get worse and worse. Use the free version if you want to, but I don't recommend paying for this product.

“Perhaps I should have intentionally attempted those questions poorly or skewed my writing a little bit.” One would think it ridiculous that these words raced through my mind after I had written a supposedly reliable test. I assure you, I thought it ridiculous then, but now… now I don’t. Even after I appealed my result, the feedback returned negative. Worse, the assistant (whom I suspect might even be an AI) sent the bad news with good wishes for my new test, as if I would ever pay for this waste of time ever again!I don’t think there’s a better explanation to excuse inefficiency or plain extortion than insinuating that one used an external device or writing assistant software. Nobody likes a cheat or would listen to one—no matter that they didn’t cheat!I have a one-hour video of myself writing this test, but I guess anything that could potentially validate that you made a mistake cannot be considered, yes? There's no better way to express my displeasure than the numbers on your review page. But then again, the truckload of negative reviews only solidifies what I have now only sadly realised about Duolingo: You are grossly inefficient. I am afraid your only efficiency is how convincingly you influence purchases with promises of a convenient and fast turnout time. Although still grossly ridiculous, the only way I can excuse this uncertified test is by thinking you had an AI proctor the test because surely, a human couldn’t possibly miss my head focused on the system like a life-saving machine (which it technically was because I needed the results for a visa application). I guess I had better run while I still could. Those who paid to take this test nine times have a much more resilient spirit for unfairness than I do. That’s a skill I’m afraid I do not possess. An absolute waste of £82!
