Review of scribd
I see that Maria below has had the same experience as we have. My wife signed up for Scribd a few years ago. I do the accounting in the house and after a year, I took note of the monthly charges and asked her if she was still using the service. No, she said. She had just signed up to try it out. I told her she should cancel it and she did. Months later I noticed the charges were still coming, and I told her she had to find out what happened. She called and was told that they had no record of her cancellation and could not refund her money. She cancelled again. A year later the charges continued. There is no longer a phone number to call and the online cancellation only allows for refund of your most recent charge, not previous unapproved charges. So I wrote and sent them a letter by regular mail detailing our troubles with them, providing bank statements and demanding a refund. They made no response except two days ago another Scribd charge showed up on our account. Like Maria we estimate about $200 in unauthorized charges. Any talk about the service provided by Scribd misses the more important point that this is a company dedicated to ripping off its customers.

Bought a redmi 9 through xiaomi. Upon arrival loved the look of the phone but realised it didn't have NFC which I needed. Talked to customer service who instantly agreed to refund the phone. A jiffy bag was sent promptly and was refunded after a short wait. Unfortunately the 9 pro was out of stock on Xiaomi So had to buy from Amazon. Phone is amazing, I think it's the best phone I have ever had!! Such a bargain at the price.
Review of lonelyplanet
Have used the guides from Lonely Planet for over 15 years and was very satisfied with all the practical information. So I just bought new guides, written in 2023. I do not know what I saw. There is no real information in this guide. All information is global. For example information about transport says only that you can take a taxi or a bus. No practical information about location of busterminal, important buslines, distances, costs etc. No information about opening times or costs of musea/ sights etc. No information about off the beaten destinations. So everything you would buy a Lonely Planet buy for is not there. Plus layout is unclear.

No Refund.? My husband and I had booked a trip in June 2020, we are self employed and have saved for this trip, but due to Corona Virus outbreak, not able to travel within this area of Australia plus the airline has cancelled flights, but asking both Booking agency and Hilton Hotel direct for refund which is just over $900 we are told due to their "Policy" only bookings made to end of April will get refund or credit. Not even allowing a reduced amount.? We are struggling now as no work is coming in, we desperately need this money and Hilton don't give a damn. We fully understand if we were to cancel booking of our own accord, but this is completely different. All other Hotels in which we have booked for this holiday have returned our money without a problem. We will also be telling all our friends, family and customers not to stay with Hilton. Very disappointed they have offered us nothing.

My recent stay at The DoubleTree by Hilton has been frustrating enough to warrant a review. I checked in on Monday, May 26, with a connecting reservation that was supposed to run through the week. At check-in, I informed the front desk that I had two back-to-back bookings (one starting Monday, the other Wednesday). The gentleman acknowledged both and assured me I wouldn’t need to change rooms—especially important since I was traveling with a child.Unfortunately, that assurance quickly unraveled. The next day, I received a check-in notification for the second reservation. When I followed up, the front desk staff insisted I had booked two overlapping stays and had been marked as a no-show. Despite showing both confirmations on my app, I was told I was wrong and advised to call Advanced Purchases. I stood in the lobby, caught between two parties arguing over the phone—one saying I was fine, the other saying I wasn’t. Eventually, the hotel staff relented and said they’d “take care of it” and notify management. I was told I’d hear from Laura Cardona or Henry Santos. I never did.I’ve since sent three emails (starting May 28), made multiple calls, and visited the front desk—no response. Meanwhile, I noticed two charges on my credit card. The room itself was also disappointing. The kids’ side was supposed to have a TV—it didn’t. The bathroom was missing basic amenities like conditioner and lotion, which I rely on when staying at Hilton properties. I submitted a request through the app and was told housekeeping would restock. They didn’t. The next morning, I was told not all rooms have TVs, despite the website saying otherwise. I booked this hotel specifically to keep my son close to school while we moved homes, and I needed that TV to help keep him occupied while I worked remotely. To make matters worse, on the day of our move, our nanny couldn’t access the room because our keys had been deactivated—without warning. We were locked out with a child late at night. Again, no communication, no explanation.I’m now in my second week of a three-week stay, and still no word from management. The Advanced Purchase team has tried to help but even they can’t get through to the hotel. Calls are either endlessly on hold, misrouted, or sent to voicemail. To be clear, the restaurant staff, maintenance, and housekeeping teams have been kind and hardworking. The front desk staff seem overwhelmed and unsupported. The real issue is the complete lack of accountability and communication from management. It’s unacceptable.I’ve sent a final email today requesting two nights be credited back to my card. I’m also cancelling future Hilton bookings where possible. I’m done. This experience has been exhausting and disheartening.

This is the best site for sending that special card and make it your own with your ability to write your own message. The cards came a couple of times with out my message, I would appreciate that I was sure my message to the card. It really could have been my fault but adds a lot someone who likes the personal touch. The card stock is wonderful and the picture flawless. The turn around time, for the most part is very timely. If you haven’t tried yet it really is worth the purchase. Dan Dow

Used to be a decent site, not it's hit rock bottom. Page is full of annoying, intrusive ads that slow down my computer's performance and chews up battery like you won't believe. What goes for 'news' is pointless celebrity articles such as 'Kim Kardashian flaunts her butt in skin tight dress'. Site now demands you to turn off adblocker to access their site. I have adblocker on for a reason, to prevent unwanted ads from slowing down my computer's performance. Time to look elsewhere...

I had the opposite experience to some, but just as poor! Crocs arrived promptly but no order confirmation received for either and Id ordered two pairs and now cannot obtain the returns label to do a return! Emails to customer service not responded to. Bad form for a supposedly reputable brand...

Review of southwest
Worst experience I've ever had aboard a plane. Southwest is an awful, bungling, disorganized, mismanaged organization that doesn't understand time management or how to meet customer needs. Flight was 1/2 late due to de-icing. Stopped again to accommodate panicky customer, then search cargo hold for another. Customer service reps come aboard to inform all connecting flights, three hours after supposed take off, that they have no chance of reaching their connecting flights. Chaos ensues as Southwest Reps attempt to service the horde of customers they've just inconvenienced. Rather than give them another hour of my time, I left. Won't be giving them another shot, don't recommend either.

Review of cloudflare
Cloudflare is regularly blocking me from different websites. It doesn't let me go on to a cinema chain's website, but more annoyingly, it blocks me when I try sending a message to my bank when logged in to their platform. It's unreal that it's 2023 and simple tasks like visiting a website or sending a message don't work.

Review of Facebook
Closed my old account months ago. Decided to go back and they wouldn't let me because my new, unused account "doesn't follow [their] community standards on account integrity". Well okay. It used to be a good place to keep a photographic log of events with friends and family. But more recently it had become a place of ads and posts that aren't from people I follow. I wanted to use it for my business, but they won't allow that without a personal account. See you later, Facebook. I am gladly taking my advertising elsewhere. :)
