Ty Mawr - Delays and Disappointment

We’ve been regular visitors to Ty Mawr for years and have always enjoyed the warm hospitality and beautiful setting. Unfortunately, our recent visit on Friday was a real letdown.Knowing how popular the place gets on a sunny evening—especially with the garden full of families enjoying the weather—we made sure to book a table for 7pm. On arrival, we were met with a queue stretching out the door. It wasn’t clear whether it was for the bar or to be seated, and only thanks to a helpful fellow customer did we figure out where to go.A lovely member of staff showed us to our table and explained the ordering process: either queue (now even longer) or use the QR code. We chose the latter, but after waiting 20 minutes, the app crashed. We weren’t the only ones having trouble—several nearby tables had the same issue.At that point, we gave up and left, which was a real shame. For a venue that seems to be well-staffed, it felt like an avoidable mess. One small suggestion: consider relocating the bar. It’s not a great first impression to have guests squeezing past a long line just to get through the door.We love Ty Mawr and want it to thrive, but Friday’s experience really missed the mark.

Weird Credit System

I find the credit system confusing. Every other similar platform just has a 1-3 credit system or something, instead of it being some random amount in the hundreds or thousands. it makes it difficult to keep track of what things cost and how many credits I have left. If it's just going to be a dollar amount, I could've just used dollars.

New crossword is rubbish

So as from today, the Quick Crossword is only available in the new Puzzles section. Trouble is, it’s rubbish! Numbers in the squares are very very tiny, and entering a letter sometimes takes you to the end of the word. Very annoying. Worse than that - I completed today’s crossword before my wife had started, but when she tried to start it, it wouldn’t allow her to access it. So now only one person per household can do the crossword?I suggest that the Telegraph takes a good look at the Guardian Quick Crossword, far, far more user-friendly, and FREE!

Can’t Seem to Manage Accounts

I tried to order towels exclusively offered by Target online. I had an account so I tried to login, but my login was rejected. I tried to reset my password, but that was rejected. I was forced to call Target to be able to access my account. The person I spoke to didn’t understand why I was calling. They tried three times to send me a link to be able to access my account and they all failed to come through. At that point I told them to delete my account. I decided I didn’t need to purchase anything from them ever again.

Always had fantastic visits at whichever place we go to. The lake District is full of beautiful places and the national trust do an outstanding job at making these enjoyable for all. Informative tours and great guides make excellent one off experiences memorable.

Nymans House June 2023

On a visit to Nymans House in June 2023, I was told at Reception to see the lady standing outside who would give me a map and directions to the house. I went outside and the lady pointed to a map on the wall and said there it is. When I asked her which way she said there are two routes, both the same distance. WRONG. Thinking she was correct I followed some people along one of the routes. It was a very long way, and considering I have walking difficulties with walking stick I was upset to find after my visit to the house and went outside someone pointed me back on the other route which was about a quarter the length of the other route. When I got to the house I was totally exhausted and saw 2 chairs at the entrance and sat on one. With that a very angry lady came marching up to me shouting at me and shaking her finger, saying no no no you can't sit there. SHE GRABBED MY UPPER ARM AND PHYSICALLY HAULED ME OUT OF THE CHAIR. She said you are not allowed to sit on this chair. I said there is normally a sign saying do not sit here. She said there is a holly leaf. I looked down, and there was a brown withered holly leaf, the same shade of brown as the chair, which I had not noticed and nothing stuck in me when I sat down. I was very upset. I complained and was given a free tea and scone. That in no way compensated me for the upset. I have had a Whipple operation and chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer and this was supposed to be my treat to myself. It also happened to be the birthday of my husband Richard, on 14th June, had he still been alive. So I had wanted it to be a special day. I was told that making a complaint locally would be swept under the carpet and to complain to head office, which I did. The reply just referred me to Nymans House. Not helpful. So I returned my new membership card and cancelled my membership. I am totally upset and disgusted with the treatment I received at Nymans House by two of their staff members, and at the pathetic response to my email complaint, and absolutely not a peep after I wrote a letter to National Trust and returned my card with the reasons for my cancellation. Incidentally, when I made my complaint at Nymans House I saw a whole load of maps. I don't know why I wasn't given one

I thought I was getting a trial…

I thought I was getting a trial subscription, and instead wound up with two subscriptions marked “not trial.” When I looked to cancel my subscriptions, the online directions didn’t apply. But my efforts did trigger a dialog box, into which I typed that I hadn’t wanted to buy a subscription, and that I wanted to cancel.There was no immediate reply.The next day, however, I did get an email from one of their support team, Andrew. Initially, the response was boilerplate, but when I explained how I thought the set-up was misleading and that I really didn’t want what I had been sold — adding that I would be fine with paying for whatever I had used so far with my membership, Andrew gave me a refund. Not a full refund, but better than I had hoped.I do think the site’s set-up is inherently predatory, but I was happy at least to have gotten a human response when I complained. Andrew was pleasnt to deal with, so kudos for that.

So went to pearl nails at parramatta Westfields to get infills for my daughter and I , so looking at the colours while getting our nails done and the colour I chose looked nude / pink But emphasising more nude but a lot less pink , me not watching as talking to my daughter and the women had one hand already painted but when I looked it was very pink which I didn’t like and it didn’t match the colour wheel , I told them that that was not the colour Raised their voice and said yes it is. I then answered back and said no it’s not so they got the colour wheel and showed me comparing to my own nail which was a very big difference but they were still rude and said it’s the same and said maybe it’s my eyes. I said to them no I don’t like the colour. I want to change it. They were very rude and very They then came back with a second colour that I chose from the wheel and literally slapped it on my nail and with a raised voice said there they didn’t even give me the chance to say if I liked it or not and just was super rough slapped the rest of it on and was trying to rush me out the door granted it was 12:03 in the afternoon . Granted, it used to be a lovely friendly environment, but now I would The rudeness Acceptable
